Job Description

About us Platte Valley Literacy Association (PVLA), located at 3020 18th Street Suite 4, Columbus, NE, is accepting resumes for an Executive Director. Please include cover letter with resume. Closing date for applications is May 1, 2026. PVLA is a non-profit, Columbus Area United Way funded agency that supports Central Community College (CCC) with complimentary services to CCC's Adult Education. Classes are taught by paid instructors and are free of charge to students. The Executive Director will report to the Board of Directors. This position consists of a 40-hour work week with a flexible schedule that could occasionally include evenings and weekends. The ideal candidate will need the following essential requirements: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; some college or college degree a plus. Experience working for non-profits, management, and diverse communities a plus. Bilingual or multi-languages a plus, but not required Communicates, assists, and supports a Board of Directors Ensures the mission and objectives of PVLA are being met Maintains accurate records for grant reporting and applies for grant funding Manages PVLA finances Prepares the yearly budget Communicates effectively both orally and in writing Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office products and email platforms Valid driver's license with the ability to travel and visit other support agencies and promote PVLA's programs and mission Coach, supervise, and evaluate all PVLA instructors and office workers Develop fundraising initiatives Collaborate with Central Community College (CCC)
Coordinator Pay:
$57,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
