Job Description

ASSISTANT MANAGER
Traene Fitness & Pickleball Employment Type:
Full-Time Reports To:
General Manager
THE ROLE
The Assistant Manager works closely with the General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of Traene. This position is responsible for helping lead the team, maintaining high standards throughout the facility, supporting sales and member experience, and ensuring that daily operations run smoothly. The Assistant Manager should be comfortable leading from the front. When the General Manager is not present, this person will be expected to take ownership of the facility, make decisions, support employees, and ensure Traene's standards are being met.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership Lead, motivate, and support Front Desk and Facility Associates. Help train new employees and ensure team members understand Traene's standards and procedures. Assist with scheduling and ensuring appropriate staff coverage. Hold team members accountable for completing assigned responsibilities. Lead by example in customer service, cleanliness, professionalism, and work ethic. Communicate employee performance, concerns, and accomplishments to the General Manager. Help create a positive team culture where employees take pride in their work. Daily Operations Monitor the front desk, fitness floor, pickleball areas, locker rooms, and amenities. Address member concerns and operational issues promptly and professionally. Ensure Traene policies and procedures are consistently followed. Identify maintenance, safety, or operational issues and coordinate with management to resolve them. Member Experience & Sales Set the standard for exceptional member service. Build relationships with members and create a welcoming environment. Conduct facility tours and assist with new member sales. Support the team in achieving membership and sales goals. Help train Front Desk Associates on sales, tours, customer service, and facility knowledge. Handle escalated member concerns and work toward effective solutions. Look for opportunities to improve the overall member experience. Facility Standards Ensure Traene remains clean, organized, safe, and welcoming throughout the day. Monitor the team's completion of daily cleaning and facility tasks. Step in and assist with cleaning and facility upkeep when necessary. Ensure equipment, weights, pickleball areas, locker rooms, and amenities are maintained to Traene's standards. Work closely with the overnight team to ensure the facility is properly maintained and reset. Address issues rather than allowing them to become someone else's problem.

Strong leadership and communication skills. Reliable, organized, and accountable. Comfortable making decisions and taking ownership. Positive, energetic, and professional. Comfortable coaching and holding employees accountable. Strong customer-service and sales skills. Willing to be hands-on with both operations and facility upkeep. Able to multitask and remain composed in a busy environment. Comfortable working a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends when needed. Previous management, supervisory, fitness, hospitality, or sales experience is preferred.

Pay:
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
