Assistant Store Manager Help us build Salem's new favorite modern resale store. Uptown Cheapskate is a fast-growing national resale brand changing the way people buy and sell fashion. At Uptown Cheapskate Salem, customers will shop a constantly changing mix of like-new and gently used pieces from brands like Lululemon, Free People, Alo, Vuori, Zara, Nike, and designer labels, all at up to 80% off regular retail prices. A huge part of our business is buying great clothes directly from people in our community. We're hiring an experienced retail leader to join our founding management team. This is a hands-on role for someone who can run a shift, coach employees, solve problems, and step into any part of the store when needed. You'll learn our systems and business quickly, so you can help hire, train, and develop a new team while establishing our culture, standards, and customer experience from day one. What You'll Do Lead shifts and create an upbeat, accountable team environment Coach Sales Associates, Buyers, and more Assign priorities and adjust coverage as customer and seller traffic changes Maintain strong customer service, store presentation, and product flow Resolve concerns and oversee register, cash, opening, and closing procedures Support hiring, training, scheduling, merchandising, inventory, and sales performance Work with store leadership to solve problems and improve and grow the business What We're Looking For Strong retail or customer service experience Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience Confidence leading employees and holding people accountable Sound judgment, clear communication, and strong problem-solving skills A positive leadership style with high standards Comfort leading from the floor in a fast-moving retail environment Reliability and strong availability, including evenings and weekends An interest in fashion and resale is helpful, but leadership ability matters most Pay, Perks, and Growth Starting at $22 per hour, with higher rates based on experience and demonstrated ability Raises as your impact and responsibilities grow Opportunities to advance into Store Manager and possible future multi-store leadership roles Bonus opportunities 25% employee discount (for eligible purchases, because working around great clothes should have its perks) Hands-on training across resale, buying, merchandising, and store operations Training and onboarding begin soon.
