General Manager The Top 4 Duties of a GM are to act as a: Team Builder (R.T.D.I.)
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, developing, & inspecting a full, ethical and professional team. Sales Leader
  • Continue to generate new members & grow EFT base by achieving 50%+ consistently. Service Leader
  • Ensure ongoing member loyalty and grow the member base. How can I help you? Marketing Leader
  • Build strong business relationships with your members and local businesses.
What We Expect From You To have mastered the requirements for SC and AGM and possess the skill, confidence and leadership necessary to take full responsibility for your club. To embrace being judged on the performance of your entire team (not just your personal production) and the fact that you can only succeed if they succeed. To know your numbers and know your people. Be able to explain the performance of your club through numbers at any moment. To set high standards by your performance and your conduct, and to inspire everyone on your team to follow your example. To see that sales staff is properly trained and given a fair chance to succeed, and then hold them accountable for achieving the required commission thresholds. To take a genuine interest in what motivates each of your sales team and members. To help your sales team and members achieve their objectives. To develop and promote future LA Fitness leaders. For GMs that means building and leading a productive team, developing promotable performers, consistently hitting bonus & growing the EFT base, maintaining high personal production, all in a professional and ethical manner. Keys to Success / Advancement Uphold and support LA Fitness policies positively and enthusiastically. Consistently maintain at least 50%+ of goal and positive EFT Roll Forward. Line up personally each day as well or better than your best team member. Demonstrate the daily discipline necessary to consistently excel. Continually develop and promote top performers. Train all day, every day. We can all use daily reminders and guidance. Take full ownership of your own success along with that of your staff and members. Live by the 13 Fatal Errors and study the Multi-Unit Manager materials. Prepare to think and plan at the next level. Be firm, fair and friendly if you need to discipline staff. Earn and keep your staff's respect. Tough on standards, Easy on people. Exude confidence, and you'll inspire confidence. Dream big, and inspire your people to do the same.
