Optical Assistant Manager Location:
Livingston, NJ Job Type:
Full-TimeJob We are excited to be growing at Advanced Eyecare Associates. Help grown our new location in Livingston, NJ. We are seeking a dynamic and leadership-minded Optical Assistant Manager to help oversee our day-to-day retail and clinical store operations. In this role, you will act as a business owner within the marketplace, partnering directly with the Optometrist to drive sales, manage lab and store efficiency, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. You will serve as both a coach and a team player, supervising technicians, and front-desk staff while jumping in to consult with customers as needed.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Coaching:
Supervise, motivate, and train staff including technicians and reception. Assist the Optometrist with staffing forecasts, recruiting, and onboarding high-caliber talent.
Business Operations:
Monitor and achieve store profit, sales, and performance goals Ensure the store is exceptionally well-maintained, executing visual merchandising directives and keeping promotions up to date. Maintain contact with vendors.
Customer Experience & Care:
Lead by example in offering premier customer service. Assist clients with custom frame selections, ensuring precise facial and eye measurements are taken.
Quality Assurance:
Optimize the workflow of the eyeglass department. Review lens remakes, enforce company policies, and maintain compliance with quality and safety standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Build and maintain excellent working relationships with independent or on-site Optometrists to guarantee seamless care. Regularly report store performance to the General Manager, District Manager, or Corporate Office.
Qualifications & Skills Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
1+ years of retail management or supervisory experience with direct reports is highly preferred. Experience in optical sales or a clinic environment is strongly preferred.
Skills:
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to analyze financial reports and problem-solve root operational issues. No Saturdays or Sundays Pay:
$24.84 - $29.92 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
