Mission Statement:
Keuka Housing Council's mission is to improve and maintain the quality and quantity of housing for individuals and families of low to modest income living in our communities. We envision a community in which all individuals live in suitable and safe housing, whether owned or rented.
Job summary:
The primary role of the Executive Director will be the face of the agency. The Director will work for future sustainability by applying for grants; administering capital improvement projects for existing rental properties; and collaborating with other community-based organizations to provide safe, decent and affordable housing.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Oversee Director of Finance; Homeownership Counselor; Case Managers; Rehab Specialist; Property Manager; and other Consultants hired for a specific purpose.
  • Oversee all of our Properties
  • Submit reports for grants
  • Write grants and seek out other funding opportunities.
  • Maintain documentation as required by several governing housing agencies (HCR/HUD/NYSSHP, etc.).
  • Participate with other housing entities to further collaborate and advance housing issues in the public arena.
  • Attend meetings as needed.
  • Provide supervision as needed/requested and conduct monthly staff meetings.
  • Conduct Board meetings for reporting and oversight.
Knowledge:
Have a working knowledge of computers; finances; and HUD requirements. Real Estate knowledge is a plus.
Other skills and abilities:
Use contemporary office equipment, especially a computer, for reporting and documentation purposes. Be able to provide supervision to employees; to organize time and paperwork efficiently; and to meet deadlines regularly. Be able to write clearly and effectively.
Education:
Any combination of education and/or work experience sufficient for successful job performance will be considered qualifying.
Typical qualifications may be:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management with a year experience working with not-for-profits or Master's Degree in Business Administration with a year experience. Background in Real Estate or Real Estate Development. Knowledge of Fair Housing.
