Full-Time, Direct Hire A growing environmental services and materials-processing organization is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a diverse, multi-operation campus in Valley View, Ohio. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with full responsibility for safety, environmental compliance, operations, financial performance, people leadership, and continued site growth. The General Manager will lead several operational managers/supervisors and partner closely with Fleet, Finance, Safety, HR, and executive leadership. Operations Include Landfill and clean-fill operations C&D recycling and material recovery MSW and C&D transfer operations Aggregate production and material handling Mulch production and processing Nonhazardous waste solidification Material baling and recovery Key Responsibilities Lead safe, efficient, and profitable day-to-day operations across all business units. Direct and develop 3-4 managers/supervisors responsible for individual operating areas. Establish production goals, staffing plans, schedules, equipment assignments, and operating standards. Own the campus P&L, annual operating budget, capital budget, forecasting, and financial performance. Monitor KPIs including throughput, cost per ton, labor productivity, equipment uptime, maintenance cost, recovery rates, and operating income. Identify operational bottlenecks and implement improvements to productivity, reliability, and cost. Maintain compliance with OSHA, Ohio EPA, environmental permits, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Build a strong safety culture and ensure consistent accountability across management and frontline teams. Partner with the Fleet Manager on preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, repair/replacement decisions, purchasing, and long-term capital planning. Evaluate equipment condition, utilization, repair history, operating costs, and expected service life. Lead and support capital projects, equipment installations, facility improvements, and campus expansion. Develop managers and supervisors through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and clear accountability. Work cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Safety, HR, Fleet, customers, vendors, contractors, municipalities, and regulators. Help shape the long-term growth and operational strategy of the campus. Qualifications 7+ years of progressive operations-management experience in an environment such as solid waste, recycling, landfill, aggregate, heavy construction, construction materials, environmental services, or heavy industrial operations. 3+ years leading managers, supervisors, or multiple operating departments. Demonstrated P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cost-management responsibility. Strong understanding of heavy equipment, maintenance programs, equipment reliability, and material-processing operations. Experience leading safety, regulatory compliance, production, and operational performance. Ability to understand financial statements, operating reports, budgets, and KPIs and translate them into action. Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment where the organization and scope are continuing to grow. Ability to work on-site and respond to operational needs outside normal business hours when necessary.
