VP, Private Banker

JOB SUMMARY

The VP, Private Banker manages a private banking portfolio of high net worth individuals using banking strategies, solutions, and advice that is customized to the client's needs. Develops and maintains client relationships by engaging the resources of other parts of the organization to provide meaningful and personalized service. Acts as advisor, providing financial information and insight. VP, Private Banker

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(RESPONSIBILITIES):
  • Provides credit solutions and gathers deposits from wealthy individuals.
  • Sources new potential clients using a variety of methods.
  • Ensures that client relationships are developed and expanded and that the resources of the entire organization are properly leveraged to provide efficient and personalized service delivery.
  • Oversees all aspects of private banking activities that service the needs of high net-worth clients.
  • Develops strategy and objectives that include deposit and loan volume goals and effective marketing plans.
  • Implements operations, processes, and team development programs to enhance the achievement of private banking objectives.
  • Acts as a consultant for high value or complex credit decisions.
  • Oversees a portfolio of highly complex accounts.
  • Identifies and proposes loan opportunities for credit review and underwriting.
  • Opens and services accounts within authorized limits.
  • Analyzes financial, tax, and credit needs of customers.
  • Monitors customers' changing needs and facilitates the implementation of strategies that utilize company products/services.
  • Exercises awareness with regard to possible suspicious activity, money laundering or fraudulent behavior and reports any such incidents to the BSA department. Performs all job functions in compliance with all company policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations as applicable to the position, including, but not limited to BSA/AML, OFAC and GLBA/privacy rules.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of private banking policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of credit and deposit products and operations.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills with an emphasis on establishing, maintaining, and growing client relationships.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability to provide service and advice to clients as a trusted advisor.
  • Ability to promote client interest in establishing an ongoing relationship beyond transactional business.
  • Ability to comprehend a client's credit needs and to recommend loan structures specific to those needs.

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics preferred. .
  • 10 years of banking experience.
  • Formal bank credit training a plus.
