Job Description

Core Values Positive Energy > Growth Oriented > Team > Family > Emotional Intelligence > Continuous Improvement > Integrity Position Summary The General Manager serves as the senior operating executive with full P&L responsibility for a vertically integrated wood pallet manufacturing, brokerage, and transportation company. Reporting to the Ownership, the GM is responsible for operational excellence, financial performance, strategic growth, safety, customer satisfaction, and leadership of a predominantly Amish production workforce. Primary Areas of Responsibility
- Lead manufacturing, brokerage, transportation, sales, purchasing, maintenance, safety, finance, and administration.
- Deliver annual revenue, EBITDA, cash flow, and working capital objectives.
- Develop and mentor department leaders while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Build strategic customer, supplier, lender, and community relationships. Manufacturing Leadership
- Direct all pallet manufacturing, recycled pallet operations, inventory, quality, maintenance, scheduling, and production planning.
- Improve labor productivity, reduce waste, maximize equipment utilization, and drive Lean initiatives. Brokerage Leadership
- Lead the $5.4M brokerage division by expanding supplier relationships, negotiating purchasing agreements, optimizing sourcing, and improving gross margins.
- Coordinate internal production with third-party sourcing to maximize customer service and profitability. Transportation Leadership
- Provide executive oversight of the $1.9M trucking operation, including fleet utilization, dispatch, DOT compliance, maintenance, fuel management, routing, and outside freight opportunities. Leadership of an Amish Workforce
- Lead with humility, consistency, fairness, and integrity.
- Develop respectful relationships with Amish employees and community leaders.
- Maintain clear face-to-face communication and predictable work schedules were practical.
- Coordinate transportation logistics and develop supervisors who understand Amish culture and values. Financial Accountability
- Full responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, monthly financial reviews, capital expenditures, cash flow, inventory, and profitability across all divisions. Key Performance Indicators
