General Manager Posted on September 14, 2026 by JMJ Phillip We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead overall manufacturing plant operations, drive operational excellence, and deliver strong financial performance. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing production, safety, quality, employee development, and profitability while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing large-scale automotive manufacturing operations and leading high-performing teams. Position Responsibilities Plant Leadership Provide strategic leadership for all manufacturing operations. Lead and develop a high-performing workforce while promoting accountability and collaboration. Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives. Operations Management Oversee daily plant operations to ensure production, quality, safety, and delivery objectives are achieved. Optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and overall plant performance. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Financial Management Maintain full responsibility for plant Profit & Loss (P&L). Develop and manage operating budgets while controlling costs and maximizing profitability. Analyze key performance metrics to support informed business decisions and achieve financial targets. Team Development Recruit, mentor, and develop supervisors and department leaders. Foster employee engagement and build a strong leadership pipeline. Promote a positive, performance-driven workplace culture. Customer & Business Support Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives. Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and business partners. Ensure customer expectations are consistently met through operational excellence. Prerequisites Minimum of 5-10 years of plant management experience in a Tier One or Tier Two automotive manufacturing environment. Proven experience leading medium to large manufacturing facilities. Strong P&L management experience with responsibility for significant operating budgets. Demonstrated success leading large teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills. Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, quality systems, and operational best practices. Ability to drive change while maintaining a safe and productive workplace. Certifications (Preferred, but Not Required) Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. MBA or advanced business degree is a plus. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certifications. Automotive industry certifications are advantageous. What the
