Job Description
Horticulture General Manager This role is responsible for leading all aspects of a horticulture operation, including financial performance, greenhouse production, inventory management, retail and wholesale operations, facilities, and team leadership. The General Manager will drive operational excellence, business growth, and continuous improvement while developing a high-performing team and ensuring exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop department managers and staff through coaching, performance management, and succession planning. Oversee greenhouse production, crop quality, inventory, irrigation, pest management, and equipment maintenance. Drive strategic initiatives to increase revenue, improve operational efficiency, and expand retail and wholesale business. Partner with sales and marketing to align production, pricing, inventory, and customer demand. Manage hiring, scheduling, payroll, budgeting, and workforce planning. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards while maintaining a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and industry partners to support long-term business growth. Qualifications 7-10+ years of leadership experience in commercial greenhouse, nursery, horticulture, agriculture, or related production environments. Strong background in operations management, financial accountability, budgeting, and strategic planning. Experience leading managers and large teams in a fast-paced production environment. Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Floriculture, Agriculture, or a related field preferred. Proficiency with financial reporting, inventory management, operational analytics, and Microsoft Excel.
