is immediately hiring a General Manager / Operations & Quality Manager for a precision metal finishing and aerospace manufacturing facility in Garland, Texas This position will provide technical, quality, production, and operational leadership while overseeing daily shop floor activities and supporting the facility's preparation for NADCAP and AS9100 certifications. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in metal finishing, strong leadership skills, and a proven background in aerospace quality and manufacturing operations. Monday - Friday 8am to 4:30pm Starting pay is $30/HR General Manager /
Operations & Quality Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary technical authority for precision metal finishing and chemical plating operations.
  • Oversee metal finishing processes including anodizing, chem film, passivation, zinc plating, and electroless nickel plating.
  • Lead and support facility preparation for NADCAP and AS9100 certifications and audits.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS), procedures, and corrective action processes.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace specifications, customer requirements, and applicable quality standards.
  • Oversee bath chemistry, process controls, coating thickness measurements, and other critical finishing processes.
  • Troubleshoot complex plating, finishing, equipment, and production issues.
  • Direct all daily shop floor operations and provide leadership to production personnel.
  • Assign workloads, delegate responsibilities, and manage production schedules to meet customer deadlines.
  • Monitor production efficiency, workflow, quality, and overall shop performance.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and production processes.
  • Utilize ERP systems to track work orders, travelers, bills of materials, production activities, and job status.
  • Maintain a culture of safety, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance programs to ensure production and finishing equipment remains operational and compliant.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, increase productivity, and improve overall production performance.
  • Identify and develop new customer opportunities within aerospace, precision manufacturing, and specialized metal finishing industries.
  • Support technical sales activities, customer consultations, quoting, and complex job estimates.
  • Assist customers with technical requirements, surface area calculations, pricing, specifications, and finishing requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers through quality products, reliable service, and technical support.
  • Work closely with production, quality, engineering, and customer teams to resolve issues and meet customer expectations.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and records are maintained for quality, production, and customer requirements.

Operations & Quality Manager Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Extensive hands-on experience in precision metal finishing and chemical plating processes.
  • Strong knowledge of metal finishing processes such as anodizing, chem film, passivation, zinc plating, and electroless nickel.
  • Proven experience preparing a manufacturing or metal finishing facility for NADCAP and/or AS9100 audits.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace quality standards, specifications, and quality management systems.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining QMS procedures and corrective action systems.
  • Proven leadership experience managing production teams and directing shop floor operations.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, workflow, and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical plating, equipment, and production problems.
  • Experience using ERP systems and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead teams, delegate responsibilities, and hold employees accountable for performance and quality.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous aerospace manufacturing or metal finishing management experience.
  • NADCAP certification or audit preparation experience.
  • AS9100 implementation or audit experience.
  • Experience with aerospace customer specifications and quality requirements.
  • Experience with technical sales, quoting, estimating, or customer development.
  • Experience managing chemical processing or plating operations.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and process optimization.
Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical degree, engineering degree, manufacturing education, or related training is preferred.
  • Additional certifications or training related to aerospace quality, metal finishing, or manufacturing are a plus.
