Job Description
Sandcastle Condominiums is seeking an Assistant General Manager for our beachfront condominium resort in Port Aransas, Texas. The Assistant General Manager communicates with guests, owners, staff, vendors, and contractors. Candidates should have experience with financial reporting, staff supervision, and audit documentation. Strong communication, organizational, and follow-up skills are required. Responsibilities Assist the General Manager with all functions necessary to operate the condominium property and resort effectively. Oversee office and front desk operations. Recruit, interview, hire, and train employees within assigned departments. Conduct employee evaluations and manage disciplinary matters as needed. Review daily audit reports to ensure billing accuracy. Prepare schedules, ensure all shifts are properly covered, and provide coverage when necessary. Follow and enforce the established key-control policy. Ensure all credit and payment policies are followed. Confirm the proper completion of front desk agents' AM and PM checklists. Handle guest concerns calmly and professionally. Assist guests with services, questions, and requests. Maintain working knowledge of all fire and emergency procedures. Understand employee responsibilities and lead by example. Coordinate professionally with Reservations, Sales, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and other departments to provide the highest level of guest and employee satisfaction. Maintain a visible and accessible presence for guests and staff. Ensure the accuracy of group reservations, rooming lists, billing, amenities, and arrivals. Ensure all team members maintain established grooming, appearance, and uniform standards. Complete additional departmental duties as operationally necessary. Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager. Qualifications At least two years of experience managing or directly supervising a staff of five or more employees. Previous property management, vacation rental management, resort management, or equivalent hospitality experience. Administrative experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Organizational, time-management, and follow-up skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Friendly, professional, and upbeat demeanor. Demonstrated ability to recruit, hire, train, supervise, coach, develop, promote, and, when necessary, release employees. Benefits Health, life, dental, and vision insurance, with enrollment available within 90 days. One week of vacation during the first year. Two weeks of vacation beginning in the second year. $21.00 - $25.00 an hour
