Job Description
Title:
General Manager Reports to: Resort Owner The General Manager is responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business. The General Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading the work of all departments, making sure all the procedures and policies are in place and are being followed. They are entrusted to ensure the mission and values are protected and upheld. The General Manager is responsible for the leadership and functionality of the department supervisors and assistant manager to make sure that our business can run smoothly and efficiently. They are to protect, train and lead an exceptional guest and client experience. The General Manager will lead, educate, and inspire their staff.Essential Job Functions:
Brand Ambassador. Seeks out ways to maintain a good reputation in the community. Hires and manages all staff. Maintain employee retention through succession planning and annual reviews Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs, values, and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and feedback. Maintain communication platforms with the team to encourage growth and education through coaching, reviews, and timely feedback. Maintain open door policy with both staff and clients. Keep up with the latest trends in our field by attending workshops and seminars related to the industry. Oversees the full-time day-to-day operations of the business. Responsible for staff payroll. Oversees the maintenance of the building. Responsible for all building upgrades and repairs. Handles all advertising and marketing of the business. Visits local veterinarians, groomers and other pet professionals with brochures and information. Arranges purchasing of products needed to run the business. Handles high level customer complaints personally, or oversees they are handled appropriately by an Assistant Manager. Responsible for overall successful operation and running of the business. Only owner/general manager will speak on behalf of their franchise location. Forwards all requests for information related to the franchise in general or the brand in general to the corporate office. Has the ability to complete any job requirement of any staff member. Monitor P&L monthly and control expenses. Create, monitor and report KPI's. Develop, monitor and audit of the annual budget. Hold monthly staff meeting and weekly huddles. Education and Experience:
Minimum of 3-4 years managerial experience in the luxury pet care or hospitality industry. BA or equivalent recommendedJob Requirements:
Must be trained and approved through K9 Resorts franchisee training program. Must complete Learning Zen Customer service-oriented Must work any shift outside of their schedule upon request of the GM/Owner Weekend and Holiday hours are requiredTechnical Skills:
Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office. Proficient written and spoken communication skills. Knowledge and experience in business, supervision and management. General knowledge of various employment laws, practices and employee relations. Excellent public speaking skillsPersonal Characteristics:
Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills. The ability to retain a high level of confidentiality. Stress tolerance - must be able to remain calm under highly stressful and unexpected situations. Must be dependable and responsible.
