What You'll Be Doing (The Big Picture) 🏆 As our General Manager II, you won't just be running a facility—you'll be setting the vision, keeping our team safe, and keeping Chesapeake green and clean.
You will:
Lead & Inspire:
Coach, mentor, and empower a dynamic team across operations, sales, customer service, and maintenance.
Drive Operations & Profitability:
Oversee a $20M+ revenue operation , reviewing monthly P&Ls, optimizing compaction and roll-off routes, and introducing smart cost-control strategies.
Champion Safety:
Lead our safety and accident prevention programs to make sure every single employee goes home safely every day. Be the
Face of GFL:
Build relationships across the Chesapeake community, partner with sales teams to unlock new market growth, and lead contract negotiations.
Optimize Everything:
Utilize cutting-edge routing and dispatch technology (RouteSmart, Full Route Roll-Off Dispatch) to deliver peak efficiency. What We're Looking For 🎯
Experience:
5+ years in the waste industry (or an equivalent blend of operational leadership and general management experience).
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on leadership track record).
Leadership Skills:
A rock-solid leader with fantastic communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Tech & Business Savvy:
Strong financial acumen (EBITDA, ROA, profit planning) paired with a comfort using operations and routing software.
Local Presence:
