Job Description

Provides executive leadership for a multi-sectioned office responsible for divisionwide school supports, accreditation, and continuous improvement systems for PreK-12. Establishes the strategic direction for coordinated support to schools, translates state accreditation and federal accountability requirements into actionable guidance, and oversees processes for obtaining and maintaining accreditation. Aligns departmental expertise, resources, and monitoring to school needs; advises division leadership on performance, risk, and support priorities; and directs the personnel, programs, and fiscal and physical resources of the assigned office.

Required Master's degree. Seven (7) years of experience in teaching and administration and supervision. Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience Postgraduate educational license with endorsement(s) designated as appropriate to the assignment. Administration and supervision PreK-12 endorsement. Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, functions, and current trends in school improvement and accreditation. Knowledge of effective teaching and learning, evidence-based practices, and the use of needs assessments to guide school supports. Knowledge of program evaluation, implementation monitoring, and applicable grant administration requirements. Ability to identify and describe effective instructional practice and how to provide feedback and coaching to improve school instruction. Strong organizational and strategic planning skills. Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting. Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to manage and develop fiscal, physical, and human resources successfully. Ability to facilitate group processes, engage in conflict resolution, and promote positive decision-making between leadership and staff to build consensus. Ability to identify effective instructional practices and provide guidance and coaching that strengthen school capacity. Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with personnel assigned to schools, other departments, public entities, and citizens. Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Preferred Experience with accreditation programs

Major Duties/Essential Functions:
1. Exercises executive leadership in the design, implementation, and evaluation of a divisionwide school support framework that integrates accreditation, federal accountability, needs assessment, and continuous improvement. 2. Establishes strategic priorities and performance expectations for the assigned office in alignment with the FCPS Strategic Plan; is accountable to division leadership for the quality, responsiveness, and results of school supports. 3. Directs processes for obtaining and maintaining school accreditation, including interpretation of requirements, readiness reviews, evidence collection, required submissions, and monitoring of corrective actions. 4. Develops strategy and provides guidance to school leaders and staff on current academic and best practices, to ensure school supports. 5. Leads cross-departmental planning to coordinate differentiated support for schools based on performance trends, accreditation status, and identified needs; establishes responsibilities, timelines, and escalation procedures for assigned support activities. 6. Partners with School Improvement leadership, regional leaders, and principals to align accreditation and accountability requirements with school improvement plans and ensure schools receive coherent guidance and timely assistance. 7. Manages risk and matters of compliance related to local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and mandates. 8. Directs the completion and analyzing of program statistics to ensure schools are on track to meet performance targets. 9. Creates and monitors data-driven reporting that provides comprehensive needs assessments, and measures program effectiveness. 10. Directs recurring school support and accreditation review cycles, including monthly on-site monitoring visits as appropriate; ensures findings are documented, responsibilities assigned, and follow-up actions completed. 11. Ensures that financial and programmatic components of grants are in alignment with grant requirements and result in meaningful improvements and accreditation. 12. Prepares regular reports and communication for state and federal review. 13. Serves as the division liaison to accreditation agencies for the assigned portfolio; coordinates official responses and ensures accurate, timely communication of accreditation requirements and status. 14. Coordinates and participates in monthly on-site monitoring school visits. 15. Conducts periodic review of school improvement strategies and efforts to ensure effectiveness. 16. Develops and oversees professional learning related to the accreditation process. 17. Communicates relevant progress and accreditation information to school leaders. 18. Projects need for, manages, and is accountable for human, physical, and financial resources with the goal of maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the office. 19. Meets with, presents to, and/or makes recommendations to high-level officials or School Board. 20. Leads or facilitates meetings with schools, community groups or employee associations. 21. Serves as point of contact for FCPS for all accreditation agencies. 22. Oversees the work of vendors or contractors. 23. Performs related duties as required or assigned.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Per the FCFPSA collective bargaining agreement, telework may be approved in limited circumstances as defined by Regulation 4417.
