PRESIDENT
Skagit Valley College (SVC) invites confidential nominations and applications for the position of President. The next President will be a dynamic, visionary leader with the ability to build trust and strong partnerships across diverse stakeholders. The successful candidate will be an open, honest, and skilled communicator who fosters trust, clarity, and alignment across the College and community. Established in 1926, SVC is a comprehensive community college serving Skagit, Island, and San Juan counties in northwest Washington. Nestled within a diverse and vibrant region of agricultural lands, forests, and coastal shorelines, the College serves approximately 8,000 students each quarter across two campuses and three centers. As a multi-campus institution operating as One College, SVC is committed to aligning programs, services, and leadership across locations while honoring the unique identity of each campus and center. As a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), SVC demonstrates a deep commitment to equity-minded practices and to serving an increasingly diverse student population. Minimum qualifications for the next President include: Experience working on or reporting to a governing board. Earned doctoral degree or equivalent. Demonstrated senior-level leadership experience in a community college or comparable higher education setting. Required to maintain residency within the Skagit Valley College service area. Preferred qualifications include experience working in a statewide higher education system and experience leading within multi-campus and/or geographically distributed or rural-serving institutions.
