Job Description

The Yacht Club at Sister Bay is a premier resort destination located in downtown Sister Bay, Wisconsin, within walking distance of the public beach, local restaurants, and shops. It is a waterfront community offering luxurious 1-4 bedroom condominiums, sweeping bay views, and a private marina. The Yacht Club is seeking a General Manager who is responsible for all aspects of the management of the Rental Program, the Homeowners' Association, Maintenance, and Human Resources. - The General Manager shall manage the overall operations of the Association as directed by the Board and in accordance with the Association's Declarations and Bylaws. - Maintain positive relationships with the Board, all Board-sanctioned standing committees (such as Rental, Finance, Marina, Buildings and Grounds), owners, staff, contractors, suppliers, consultants, community, and local government agencies. Maintain administrative and maintenance processes that ensure a high level of internal customer satisfaction. Provide timely and thorough communications to all owners regarding individual requests for service or assistance. Investigate disturbances, violations, and complaints; and resolve problems in accordance with Owner and Rental Guest Rules and Regulations. Present an operational report at each Association Board meeting, and at the Association Annual Meeting. - Protect, maintain, and strive to improve property values by maintaining high-quality professional standards for the repair and replacement of Association property and common elements. Arrange for and oversee all activities on the YCSB property such as contract service personnel, trash collectors, landscaping and snow removal services, major repair contractors, and utility service personnel. Ensure compliance with local building and safety codes, insurance requirements, and other specifications as applicable. Perform regular inspections of the YCSB property to identify areas that need immediate and near-term attention. Use the most recent engineering and reserve studies as reference guides to ensure preventive maintenance is planned and executed on a timely basis. - Hire staff as required and included within the annual budget. Plan, direct, and supervise the work of the YCSB office personnel, housekeeping staff, and maintenance personnel. Develop and document personnel policies for Board approval as required. Recommend and review all personnel actions (e.g., hiring, dismissal, salary adjustments/ merit increases, promotions, disciplinary actions, etc.) for all salaried, hourly, and contract employees to the Board (or Board President if time is of the essence) for approval prior to implementation. Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws regarding employment practices. Maintain a work environment that treats all employees and applicants fairly, without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, or physical handicaps. Maintain a workplace that is free of harassment and discrimination. Develop, document, and maintain personnel policies, such as hiring, discipline, performance reviews, and others as needed for the effective management of staff. Promote safety in the workplace. - Prepare an annual association budget with and under the direction of the Association Treasurer, accounting agency, and in collaboration with the Finance Committee. (Approval of annual budgets rests with the Board of Directors). Prepare an annual Rental Program budget under the direction of the Association Treasurer and in collaboration with the Rental Committee. The Rental Program budget should be consistent with the Association in terms of cost sharing guidelines determined by the Board. (Approval of annual budgets rests with the Board of Directors). Review monthly financial results for the Association and Rental Program and report on significant variances to the Association Treasurer. Work closely with the Association Treasurer and accounting agency to accurately track, record, and assign costs and charges to individual owners, the Rental Program, and the Association's various cost centers and related reserve funds. - Provide management and oversight of all operations, policies, procedures, and staffing affiliated with the Rental Program including: Actively participate and collaborate with the Rental Committee to promote and educate all YCSB owners on the option to participate in the Rental Program and its' benefits. Work with the Rental Committee to make ongoing improvements for a successful program. Develop a sales and marketing plan for the Rental Program in collaboration with the Rental Committee . \ Formulation, documentation, and implementation of an annual promotion calendar that specifies all important dates and deliverables including brochure publications, advertising, sponsorships, etc. Maintain an effective social media presence to promote the Rental Program with a customer friendly website with condo rental information and reservation systems. Monitor, respond to, and act on social media reviews. Review pricing strategy annually and make suggestions for changes, as appropriate, to the Rental Committee for Board approval. Processing of guest reservations and stays including scheduling, acceptance, confirmation, check-in, and check-out. Be present during peak hours/weeks to handle all guest needs. Managing all housekeeping and laundry activities required to support the Rental Program. Maintaining accurate records and bookkeeping necessary for accurate financial management of the Rental Program. Enforce all Rental Program rules, policies, and procedures as modified from time to time and approved by the Board. Details related to the position include:
  • The base annual salary for qualified candidates ranges from $85,000 to $100,000.
  • Annual Performance bonus

  • 2 weeks PTO to be used primarily in the off-season from October to May
  • 5 floating holidays
  • Hotel or Condotel experience desired.
  • Managerial experience required
  • Financial or accounting background a plus
  • Knowledge of Excel
