Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Grant Administrator to join our team in Bakersfield, California. This position offers an opportunity to work within the non-profit sector, focusing on identifying and securing funding opportunities to support organizational goals. The ideal candidate will be skilled in managing the full grant lifecycle, from application to compliance, while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
Responsibilities:
  • Research and identify potential funding sources, including corporate, foundation, and government grants, to align with organizational priorities.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of grant applications, ensuring all requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with program directors and managers to assess funding needs and match them with suitable opportunities.
  • Allocate grant funds effectively to support unrestricted operating revenue and specific program goals.
  • Manage the full grant cycle, including tracking fund usage, ensuring compliance with funder requirements, and submitting timely reports.
  • Coordinate and lead the submission of collaborative grant applications, working with partner organizations to align objectives and gather necessary documentation.
  • Serve as the primary representative for the agency in the Kern County Food Policy Council, driving strategic initiatives and engaging stakeholders to influence local food policy.
  • Assign and supervise staff in completing funding proposals, project evaluations, and community needs assessments.
  • Support the renewal of funding for existing contracts and programs, ensuring research and documentation are thorough and accurate. Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in grant writing, funding research, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing corporate, foundation, and federal grants, including compliance and reporting.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple grant applications and timelines concurrently.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency in conducting community needs assessments and aligning outcomes with funding opportunities.
  • Knowledge of Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) and other federal grant programs is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with grassroots efforts and policy development, particularly in food policy or similar areas.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams to achieve organizational funding goals.
