Navigator (GRANT)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This is a part-time (19.5 hours per week) grant position that is responsible for assisting youth and families referred for diversion from court to Community Accountability Program for Stratford Students (CAPSS). Responsibilities include outreach to families, scheduling intakes and restorative circles, developing and monitoring restorative action plans, helping youth/family reduce barriers to completing their plan, and linking them to additional community resources.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Community and Senior Services and works closely with the CAPSS Manager.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Meet with CAPSS youth and their families to develop, monitor and support completion of their restorative action plans.
- Document and report navigation activities to CAPSS Manager.
- Facilitate and attend CAPSS Restorative Circles.
- Data entry and case note documentation.
- Perform related work as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES
- Thorough knowledge of restorative practices and adolescent development.
- Excellent ability to address barriers associated with youth who present with resistance to services.
- Demonstrated cultural responsiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university in Criminal Justice, Professional Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work or related field and 5 years' experience working with court-involved individuals
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Due to limited local travel, valid Driver's License is required.
- Spanish language skills a plus.
SALARY
$30- $35 per hour, depending on experience
