Job Description

Coordinates the functions of budgeting, accounts payable, purchasing, cash receipts, and general accounting for the police department. Reviews and verifies travel expense reports for accuracy and completeness Coordinates and compiles the police department annual budget Monitors and analyzes police department expenditures and revenues and compiles monthly reports for senior staff and program managers Develops forecasts and projections based upon financial analysis of revenues and expenditures Coordinates the accounts payable function by processing and verifying purchases, requisitions, purchasing card activity, billings, and invoices Collects and audits cash receipts, and maintains petty cash fund Processes, verifies and reconciles purchasing card activity Reconciles statements for vendors by verifying invoice receipt, payment and posting Monitors compliance of departmental policies for all areas under scope of duties Researches and prepares financial analyses as assigned Prepares summaries and routine reports as assigned Prepares financial reports for grants, coordinates the collection of grant funds, and performs grant accounting activities Prepares forfeiture reports, FEMA reports, and other special financial reports as required Advises and instructs police department staff regarding purchasing policies, budgeting and the use of the Citywide Eden financial software Acts as department liaison regarding finance department activities Communicates with police department and city staff; vendors; grant funding agencies; and other local, state and federal agencies as needed to exchange information and resolve problems. Operates listed office machines as required Performs any other related duties as required or assigned High School diploma or equivalent, and Considerable experience involving financial records and accounts, or Any related combination of training and experience Valid State of Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record
