Job Summary:

This full-time professional position is responsible for providing support to staff and partners to plan and implement mental health promotion and suicide prevention programming. This includes assisting coalitions and partners with strategic planning and other capacity building such as community events, outreach messaging, trainings and presentations, grant writing, and budget management.

Evaluation:

The Vice President of Prevention & Youth Support, following adopted policies of Community Partnership of the Ozarks, evaluates the Suicide Prevention Coordinator.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in public health, education, social work, public administration, human services, or a closely related field, Master's degree preferred; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal); Ability to develop and maintain relationships within the agency and in the public and private sectors; Strong computer skills, especially internet and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Strong time management skills, with ability to maintain flexibility and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet program deadlines in a fast-paced work environment; Strong analytical skills including critical thinking, problem solving, and prioritizing information; Experience and knowledge of budget development and management; Excellent follow up and follow through; Knowledge of local resources and ability to leverage them to ensure successful program outcomes; Experience in working with volunteers and community groups; Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed; Commitment to support and model the Community Partnership of the Ozarks (CPO) values of integrity, compassion, teamwork, creativity, compassion, excellence, and diversity and inclusion.

Essential Functions:

Lead mental health training coordination for multiple counties; Develop expertise in evidence-based suicide prevention trainings; Build collaborative relationships with community agencies and organizations; Provide timely, clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communication; Establish meeting agendas, maintain meeting records, and facilitate meetings; Provide accurate and timely budget tracking and management; Facilitate mental health promotion and suicide prevention trainings and presentations; Administer and manage the One Cause system for fundraisers and events; Assist with grant writing and grant management; Coordinate and implement social media outreach messaging; Attend regular meetings with coworkers to collaborate, share program updates and identify solutions to program barriers and challenges; Assume lead staff role for program support and meeting coordination with select partners and one or more county-level Suicide Prevention Networks; Provide timely and accurate in-kind and leveraged resource tracking; Assist with program evaluation planning and implementation; Represent CPO at meetings and conferences; Seek new resources and collaborative opportunities for prevention efforts; Participate in relevant professional development and training; Participate in CPO's resource development activities; and Other duties as assigned.

Reporting Structure:

The Suicide Prevention Coordinator reports to the Vice President of Prevention & Youth Support.

Position Clarification:

The position of Suicide Prevention Coordinator is a grant-funded position and is based upon funding availability. The job duties are subject to change, based on the funding requirements. This is a full-time, exempt position. Grant funding dictates the pay range for this position. CPO receives federal grants and contracts and therefore must comply with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988.
