Job Description

Biblical Principles and Expectations:
All employees proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through their employment, and thereby further Malones mission to provide students with an education based on biblical faith in order to develop men and women in intellectual maturity, wisdom, and Christian faith who are committed to serving the Church, community, and world. I. University OverviewMalone strives to provide an education that produces graduates with a love of truth and a vibrant, mature faith. Our intent is that students attain the wisdom, knowledge, and skills necessary to serve, engage, and transform the communities in which they live and work. To this end, we provide the curricular and co-curricular context in which to pursue the following educational goals: Understand and critically engage those bodies of knowledge and cultural influences that have shaped the world; Understand the biblical, historical, and theological foundations of the Christian faith; Think critically and creatively and communicate effectively in multiple contexts; Attain expertise in at least one profession or academic discipline and lay the foundation for meaningful work or further studies at the graduate level; and explore the implications of the Christian faith for all areas of living, including intellectual, spiritual, and community pursuits.

II. Job SummaryThis position is responsible for identifying and applying for various grants that meet the organizations needs, overseeing the grant application process from beginning to end.

IV. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResearches available grants and the criteria to qualify for eachDiscusses available sources of funding with administrative managers Coordinates the application process through collaboration with other employees, database research, and other fact-finding actions and meetingsCompiles and/or researches to ensure that application information is comprehensive, accurate and up to dateDrafts and completes grant applications according to application requirementsEnsures grants are submitted on time and within application parametersCompletes all documents, forms, or reports required by the grant Coordinates the monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects that are funded by grants (post-award) Develops and maintains master files on grants and paperwork connected to programs funded by grants Manages the grant submission process (pre-award) including, but not limited to: filling out forms, preparing letters, uploading proposal documents into sponsor portals, reviewing proposals for conformity with Federal, State, and Sponsor guidelines. Other duties as assigned V. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of people and culturesAbility to problem-solve and initiate/implement projects independentlyAbility to master new computer-based systemsThorough understanding of local, state, and federal funding sources and the ability to locate potential sources of fundingThorough understanding of grant funding policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulationsExpertise in conflict resolutionAbility to collaborate with a wide range of peopleAbility to handle sensitive issues with confidentialityExcellent verbal and written communication skillsEffective grant writing techniquesProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related softwareExtremely organized and detail-orientedExcellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resourcesAbility to meet deadlinesAbility to interpret financial data and prepare budgets and financial grant reportsDiscrete with personal information included in grantsAbility to coordinate multi-faceted projects with minimal supervision and high initiative in a deadline driven environmentEffective relational and collaborative skillsAbility to maintain a high level of professionalism VI. Education and ExperienceBachelors DegreeExperience in higher education is a plusVII. Working Conditions / Physical DemandsWork is typically performed in a conventional office environment A current, valid drivers license is requiredSome local/regional travel will be requiredOccasional evening and weekend work is required when necessary
