The AgWell Coordinator leads the development, implementation, and expansion of the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union (RMFU) Foundation's AgWell program, supporting the well-being and resilience of agricultural communities across the Rocky Mountain region. This position coordinates educational programming, trainings, partnerships, and outreach efforts focused on stress management, mental health awareness, and community support within agriculture. The AgWell Coordinator also oversees program administration, including pursuing funding opportunities, managing grant reporting requirements, and coordinating its grant application process that funds AgWell programming. This is a grant-funded position with funding expected for a minimum of four more years.ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
o Lead AgWell's current programming § Present workshops and webinars, attend speaking engagements, and lead trainings for RMFU chapters, and partner organizations. § Collaborate with the Membership Department to embed AgWell offerings into chapter events and assist in funding events related to AgWell's mission. § Become certified as a trainer with key partners (i.e.COMET, QPR
) and lead train-the-trainer sessions as requested. o Develop and expand additional programming § Collect and document evidence-based research and best practices to drive future programming decisions. § Develop and expand new, data-driven and member-based programming. o Coordinate with partner organizations, agencies and providers within AgWell § Hold and facilitate regular meetings to sustain a broad-based network. § Assist in the pursuit of additional opportunities for AgWell programming. § Promote our efforts and impact locally and nationwide throughout our networks.o Serve as AgWell administrator:
§ Manage the AgWell budget. § Reapply for WRASAP grants and related funding annually. § Generate new and diverse revenue streams for AgWell. § Maintain necessary documents and complete grant reporting. o Work directly with the Director of Strategic Engagement in concert with the RMFU CEO and other departments and program areas withinRMFU, RMFU
Foundation (RFMUF), and Farmers Union Service Agency (FUSA)§ Identify member target populations and unique programmatic areas that will increase member activity. § Work with staff to integrate efforts across the organization that are member-focused. § Perform other duties as assigned.OTHER DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
o Serve as a member of the RMFU and RMFUF team, participate in staff meetings, training programs, and contribute to the overall success of the organization o Support additional tasks as assigned.SUPERVISORY DUTIES
o This position does not have formal supervisory responsibilities over other employees.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
o Have working knowledge of rural farm/ranch operations and other agriculture enterprises. o Experience in mental/behavioral health training and/or education. o Ability to easily and effortlessly navigate both sides of the political spectrum and build positive relationships with all members, regardless of ideological differences o Understanding of rural communities and community organizing. o Enthusiastic, self-motivated and independent worker. o Strong oral and written communications skills. o Proven ability to work effectively and creatively with diverse people and groups. o Proven record of project management and completion. o Ability to manage programmatic budgets, including both private and government grant funds o Willing to travel throughout Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications Experience o Experience supporting mental/behavioral health, wellbeing, stress management, or community resilience initiatives. o Experience working in or with agricultural communities. o Experience managing program budgets, tracking expenditures, and coordinating grant or organizational funding requirements o Experience facilitating workshops, trainings, or public presentations for adult audiences. Education o Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, agriculture, education, or another related field Desired Qualifications Experience o First-hand agricultural experience is highly preferred.o Knowledge of stress management, community resilience, suicide prevention, or peer-support models preferred.o Familiarity with National Farmers Union and/or Rocky Mountain Farmers UnionWORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
o Requires the extensive use of arms, hands, and fingers. o Frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, reach with arms and hands, talk, see, and hear. o Position is designated as field staff, with limited in-office days o Frequent travel is sometimes required.Note:
