Kumabe HR is partnering with a local institution to recruit for a temporary to hire Grants Fiscal Support Specialist. A Grants Fiscal Support Specialist supports the administration of state-funded grant programs by reviewing financial reports, verifying supporting documentation, maintaining audit-ready records, and ensuring compliance throughout the grant lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Review and process fiscal reports submitted by nonprofit grant recipients according to established requirements. Verify financial documentation, approvals, reported expenses, and compliance with approved grant budgets. Provide technical assistance to subrecipients and resolve missing information or reporting discrepancies by phone and email. Coordinate with internal departments to track fiscal reports, documentation, deadlines, and outstanding items. Compile financial data and assist with grant reconciliation, record retention, and final close-out documentation. Perform data entry and other grant-related, fiscal, and administrative duties as assigned.
Skills/Experience Desired:
Minimum of two years of experience in accounting, fiscal grant administration, grant support, or administrative support. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including strong Excel skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience with State of Hawaii grants, nonprofit accounting, GAAP, financial reporting, or grant-management systems preferred. Must be authorized to work in the United States, reside in or plan to relocate to Hawaii, and pass required background and screenings.
