Job Type Full-time Unionized Position Code Not Applicable Job Description The Regional Programs Manager oversees administration for the Program on Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle Eastern Studies Program, Maxwell African Scholars Union, and the Center for European Studies. He/she will oversee events, conferences, and outreach activities, participate in grant seeking and grant writing, curate content for newsletters, brochures, websites, posters, social media, and outreach. They will be the hub for communications for these regional programs. They will interact with external collaborators maintaining strong and healthy ties to our consortium partners, speakers, and organizations. The Regional Programs Manager will work with the Event Coordinator and other institute staff to execute the smooth administration of the Program's activities. The Regional Programs Manager will advise and monitor students on their requirements, eligibility, and responsibilities, and nurture their involvement in the program's activities. The Regional Programs Manager will also advise and monitor student progress on Certificates of Advanced Studies. This position will work with the Directors of the regional centers/programs as well as the faculty advisory boards to develop the vision and goals for the programs. This position will provide continuity and momentum for these regional programs. Education and Experience MA with a concentration in area studies. In depth knowledge of one or more region, Africa, Latin America, Middle East or Europe culture, religion, and history. Skills and Knowledge Familiarity with rules and regulations of the Department of Education Title VI NRC and FLAS programs Excellent communication and organizational skills Initiative and leadership qualities Team player Proficiency in MS Office Familiarity with a variety of social media platforms Responsibilities Oversee the programming activities of the regional centers/programs, in concert with the Directors and advisory boards. Activities include K-12 and community college and educator outreach, speaker series, conferences and webinars. Curate content and oversee distribution of marketing initiatives for regional centers/programs, including newsletters, social media, brochures, websites, and event promotional materials. Oversee listserv management. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with faculty and staff as a member of the Moynihan Institute team, the SU community and as the central contact and driving force for the Regional Programs. Develop a university network of administrative contacts and a regional network of contacts. Advise students regarding grant opportunities, scholarships and certificates of advanced studies. Monitor grant opportunities available for the centers/programs, the faculty therein, and the students and develop ways to share that information and support grant seeking.
