Job Description
SUMMARY:
Under general supervision of the Research Program Manager and the Director of the Center for Behavioral and Preventive Medicine (CBPM), and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Research Project Director is responsible for the operation of projects, including recruitment, implementation programs, processes, and outcome evaluation of CBPM projects and core related projects within the COBRE for Stress, Trauma, and Resilience. The Research Project Director will liaison with other internal and external departments as required. In collaboration with Principal Investigators and the Research Program Manager, assesses needs and identifies mission-critical tasks to meet overall goals of the project. Collaborates in the development and execution of project and core goals, establishment of datelines, and the development of long and short-range strategic implementation plans. Collaborates with research project Principal Investigators and cores to ensure grant goals including timelines and deadlines are met. Works with the Research Program Manager to provide administrative and logistical management of daily operations. Includes assessing grant activity to assure compliance with grant requirements, assures all required reporting is completed on time, monitoring of monthly expense reports for accuracy and conformance to budget and addresses variances as required to meet the budget. Coordination of sub-contracts with affiliated hospitals and universities may be required. Assists the Principal Investigators of Projects with protocols, intervention plans, and recruitment, IRB submissions and assists with other laboratory needs, as required. Organization and assistance with the implementation of clinical protocols of the project and provision of direct services may be required. Assists the Principal Investigators of Cores with administrative support and operational and strategic plans. Oversees core deliverables and is responsible for tracking and reporting core usage. Travels, to evaluate sites, or for other grant-related reasons, as required. Provides supervision and oversight to staff. Hires, trains, schedules, conducts periodic performance evaluations, provides guidance and counsels to assistants and other designated staff to endure high quality recruitment and related data gathering. Maintains quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control in accordance with established hospital department policies and objectives.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BASICKNOWLEDGE
Equivalent to Master's Degree in relevant discipline. Knowledge of research grants administration and current reporting requirements.EXPERIENCE
Two to three years relevant experience, depending on size and complexity of grants, including supervisory, clinical and/or diagnostic interviewing. Experience with multi-year, multi-site studies and at-risk populations and community-based programs is essential. Knowledge of SPSS, REDCap, and Excel is preferred. Supervisory and administrative experience desirable.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While most duties are performed in an office environment, incumbent is exposed to patient-care environment. Any risk of exposure to contagious or noxious elements is minimized by adherence to safety procedures and protocols.INDEPENDENT ACTION
Incumbent functions independently within a broad scope of department policies and practices; generally, refers specific problems to supervisor only where clarification of department policies and procedures may be required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Provides direct supervision for up to 10 full-time equivalent personnel assigned to the project.Pay Range:
