Role Exists:
Inventory accuracy is the backbone of a great in-store experience. This role exists to make sure every shipment that arrives at the store is received, verified, and put away correctlyand that inventory stays accurate and available, so customers always find what they came into the store for.
Key Responsibilities:
ReceivingVerify inbound shipments against packing slips and purchase ordersReport shortages, overages, and damaged goods to the warehouse or vendorComplete and sign off on receiving paperworkPutaway & Stockroom OrganizationPut away received inventory to correct bin and shelf locationsMaintain an organized, clearly labeled stockroom layoutRotate stock (FIFO) where applicableInventory CountsRun recurring cycle countsConduct full physical inventory counts as scheduledReconcile count results against system recordsInvestigate and document inventory variancesProcess or escalate inventory adjustmentsReplenishmentPull stock from the backroom to the sales floorMonitor low-stock levels and prioritize restocksSupport planogram and reset execution with product pullsReturns & Return-to-Vendor (RTV)Process customer returns going back to stock or to the vendorHandle return-to-vendor paperwork and shipmentsLog and route defective or damaged merchandiseTransfers & FulfillmentPrepare and ship store-to-store inventory transfersPick and pack online orders (ship-from-store), where applicableLoss PreventionSecure high-value and high-theft inventoryFlag shrink patterns or suspicious discrepanciesSafety & EquipmentMaintain safe, compliant stockroom conditionsOperate and maintain pallet jacks and scannersDocumentationMaintain receiving logs, discrepancy reports, and count records
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalentPrior retail, stockroom, or warehouse experience preferredComfortable using handheld scanners, POS, and inventory management systemsStrong attention to detail and basic math/reconciliation skillsAbility to work independently and follow safety proceduresForklift or pallet jack certification a plus, where applicable
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 4050 lbs regularlyAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periodsAbility to climb ladders and use stockroom equipment safelyAvailability may include early mornings for shipment receiving, plus weekends and holidays as needed based on business demandWhat Success looks like in this role:
