The Position:
The SmartHands Associate
  • Inventory & Field Operations is an entry-level position where you will find yourself working at times independently, other times, collaboratively with a team.
Your work will predominantly be spent in the warehouse as part of Inventory Control, however there will be opportunities to support SmartHands in the field as well. As part of SmartHands, the role will include the collection of assets from their respective sites, local, and/or continental US. The role as part of the Inventory Control team will be responsible for the accurate triage, receipt and putaway of all Northbay Networks inventory. They will be responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy goals are met by participating in cycle counts, updating inventory to reflect their final disposition.

  • Attendance/Punctuality is essential. This is not a role that can be done from home. We need team members to be present, on time and ready/willing to work.

  • This position receives ongoing feedback on how to best accomplish tasks. Additional responsibilities may be added as competencies develop.
  • Accountable
  • This is a role that is very repetitive. This role can entail cleaning laptops for the entire workday. Being able to work efficiently regardless of the time of day, number of units processed, beginning or the end of the shift, etc.
  • Efficiency
  • This role requires a sense of urgency, long durations of focus is essential to minimize the amount of time spent per asset, yet deliver on expectations that the asset will be clean to a ready to ship standard.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Able to lift 100+ lbs, safely with the appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
  • Able to lift and maneuver safely, 50lbs independently of any additional assistance.
  • Able to successfully complete all basic and recurrent training. This can include on the job training as well as in person classroom and online course work.
  • The ability to communicate both timely and effectively, in a warehouse operations environment. Tools & Equipment Used
  • PPE-Kneepads, back braces are provided (if requested), eye protection, gloves are always available.
  • Chemicals
  • Isopropyl Alcohol 70%, Goo Gone or similar products needed to accomplish tasks
  • Tools-Straight Razor, Scraper, Box Cutter, Stretch wrapper, basic hand tools (screw driver, electric drill/driver, flush cutters). All tools will be provided, proficiency or previous experience in any capacities preferred.
  • Forklift training will be offered to certain candidates, provided they complete successfully any provided instructional training.
Primary Responsibilities Maintain accurate intake, triage, receipt, putaway, and disposition of Northbay Networks inventory. Record all required asset data accurately and efficiently, including status, condition, location, serial number, and other pertinent details. Use spreadsheets and inventory systems to filter, update, and maintain asset records. Participate in cycle counts and other inventory accuracy activities. Assist with outbound shipments, asset refurbishment, and preparation of equipment for ready-to-ship condition. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse work environment, including breaking down boxes, moving pallets, cleaning workstations, and other assigned housekeeping tasks. Maintain attention to detail while working at an efficient pace, with a target of fewer than 1% data-entry errors per 100 units processed. SmartHands & Field Operations Support the SmartHands team with local and continental U.S. engagements as assigned. Assist with engagement preparedness, including confirming that requested tools, supplies, and materials are available and ready for deployment. Assist with collection and handling of assets from client sites and other designated locations. Communicate professionally with clients and project team members and remain flexible when project scope, schedules, or onsite requirements change. Support field engagements that may occasionally require travel outside normal business hours, extended workdays, or changes to the planned scope. Travel-related expenses and applicable per diem will be provided in accordance with company policy. Workplace & Facility Support Assist with workplace service obligations as assigned, including managing stock levels of designated supplies and restocking workplace areas. Assist with facility and preventative-maintenance functions within the scope of training and assigned responsibilities. After completion of projects, return tools, supplies, and materials to their designated storage locations. Minimum Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum Experience
  • Preferred previous experience using Google work suite apps.
  • Familiarity and comfortable using spreadsheets. Basic formula understanding is a plus. Job Conditions
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner, for extended periods of time with little to no oversight. This is a client facing role, professionalism is required.
  • Required to wear Northbay Networks attire for any onsite SmartHands work, or interaction with clients.
  • Completed background check is prerequisite of any employment at Northbay Networks
  • Adherence to Northbay Networks NDA, SOC1 and 2 policies, NAID and security awareness training policies is required.
Violations of those policies can result in termination.
Pay:
$22.00
