About the Opportunity Valley Inventory Service is building a Special Project team of Inventory Associates to support our growing inventory operations. This position is a good fit for individuals looking for flexible work, supplemental income, paid training, or an opportunity to prove themselves and potentially move into a regular part-time role. As a Special Project Inventory Associate, you may be offered work when additional staffing is needed due to employee absences, large inventory projects, special assignments, or increased customer demand. Hours are not guaranteed and may vary from week to week based on business needs. Team members who demonstrate strong attendance, professionalism, reliability, accuracy, and performance may receive priority consideration for future assignments and may have the opportunity to transition into a regular part-time position as and when openings become available. About Valley Inventory Service Serving the community since 1970, Valley Inventory Service specializes in inventory audits for liquor stores, convenience stores, grocery stores, warehouses, hardware stores, and other retail businesses throughout California and neighboring states. What You'll Do Count and audit inventory at customer locations Travel to assigned store, warehouse, or retail locations Accurately count merchandise using inventory equipment and company procedures Work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail Assist team leaders with completing inventory projects on schedule Follow company safety, attendance, and professionalism standards Represent Valley Inventory Service professionally at customer locations What to Expect This is a need basis Special Project positions. Hours are not guaranteed Work opportunities will vary based on business needs Some weeks may have multiple assignments, while other weeks may have few or none Employees may accept or decline offered assignments unless they have already accepted a scheduled shift. In person Requirements Physical Requirements With or without reasonable accommodation, employees must be able to: Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and reach for extended periods Climb ladders when needed Lift up to 25 pounds Work typical shifts of 6-8 hours, with some assignments varying based on customer needs Work in retail, warehouse, convenience store, grocery, and similar inventory environments What We're Looking For At least 18 years of age Strong work ethic and dependability Ability to arrive on time and ready to work Basic math and counting skills Professional attitude and willingness to learn Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team Reliable transportation is preferred Valid driver's license is preferred for certain assignments, but not required for all positions Transportation Reliable transportation is preferred because job locations may change regularly. Employees may report directly to assigned customer job sites and are not required to report to the Fairfield office before each shift. Transportation assistance may be available for some local hires when needed. Valley Inventory Service maintains company vehicles that may be used for transportation to certain job sites. Travel time will be paid when required by applicable law, including required travel between job sites or required company-controlled travel. Benefits Training Paid training is provided.
