ABOUT WALKER BOUTIQUE
Walker Boutique is part of Walker Pharmacy & Gifts, a family-owned business serving Statesboro since 1984. We sell women's apparel, gifts, home decor, and children's merchandise through our Market District store and online. We are hiring one person to own our inventory process from end to end.READ THIS BEFORE YOU APPLY
This is a back-of-house operations position. It is not a sales floor, styling, or merchandising job. The work is detailed, repetitive, and largely independent. It also carries real responsibility and very little supervision.WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Shopify and Product Data Enter and maintain purchase orders; track open orders, backorders, and expected ship dates Receive against purchase orders and process transfers Create products and variants with accurate SKUs, costs, prices, vendors, tags, and quantities Maintain product data standards across apparel, gift, home, and children's Keep cost and pricing accurate, including freight allocation Receiving and Reconciliation Physically receive shipments and verify counts and condition against packing slips and purchase orders Reconcile purchase order, merchandise received, and vendor invoice before anything goes to accounting Identify shortages, overages, damages, wrong merchandise, and pricing errors Submit complete invoice packets with documentation Vendor Communication Serve as our primary contact with vendors on shortages, damages, and billing issues Pursue credits and replacements until they are actually resolved Maintain a claim log and reconcile open credits monthly Inventory Accuracy Keep Shopify quantities matched to what is physically on the shelf Run rotating cycle counts and lead periodic full counts Investigate the cause of variances rather than adjusting to make them disappear Process markdowns, transfers, returns to vendor, and write-offs Produce monthly aged inventory and open order reports Workflow Coordinate with floor managers so new merchandise reaches the floor quickly Generate barcodes and price tickets Hand off to marketing so product goes live online without delay Improve the process where you find it brokenWHAT WE REQUIRE
Hands-on Shopify backend experience — purchase orders, receiving, transfers, product creation, cost fields, inventory adjustments. Storefront-only experience does not meet this requirement. Demonstrated ownership of a detailed process from start to finish Working Excel proficiency — sorting, filtering, comparing data sets Outlook and general business software fluency Clear, professional written communication. You will email vendors directly under our name. Extremely organized, task-oriented, and self-motivated. Nobody will be checking behind you. Ability to lift merchandise, use a ladder, navigate stairs, and stand for extended periods Availability through our September-December peak seasonPREFERRED
Experience reconciling vendor invoices or three-way matching Experience resolving vendor billing or shipping disputes Accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general ledger exposure Familiarity with wholesale ordering and market buying cyclesWHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
If we order 12 dresses, 11 arrive, one has a broken zipper, Shopify still shows 12, and the invoice bills us for all 12 — we need someone who sees that as one problem with four loose ends and closes all four without being asked twice. That instinct matters more to us than years of retail experience.SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday from 9a to 6p with an hour lunch break. Limited weekend requirement.We close for six holidays:
New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.THE WALKER WAY
