at Staffmark Investment LLC in Chicago, Illinois, United States Job Description Materials Specialist - Locomotive Maintenance Chicago, IL | Direct Hire | $26-$30/hour Looking for a stable career with growth potential, paid training, and the opportunity to support one of the nation's leading transportation networks? Join a global industry leader as a Materials Specialist and play a critical role in keeping locomotive fleets running safely and efficiently. No locomotive experience? No problem. Comprehensive training is provided to help you become a certified expert in materials management, inventory control, logistics, and warehouse operations. What You'll Do Manage inventory, shipping, receiving, and material distribution for locomotive maintenance operations Pull and stage parts for repairs and maintenance activities Perform cycle counts, stock audits, and inventory accuracy checks Coordinate inbound, outbound, LTL, and expedited shipments Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely Process material orders, warranties, and inventory transactions using software systems Support forecasting and planning for locomotive maintenance needs Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused warehouse environment Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Experience in warehouse, logistics, shipping/receiving, inventory, or materials management Forklift operating experience preferred Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory systems Ability to perform basic math calculations Ability to work overnight 12-hour shifts in an industrial shop environment
Schedule Sunday-Tuesday:
Off Wednesday (every other week): 6:00 PM-6:00
AM Thursday-Saturday:
