Inventory Control Clerk

Description:

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records in Fishbowl (or similar ERP system), supporting production by ensuring materials are properly tracked, and closing blending and production work orders on time. This role requires strong attention to detail, basic system skills, and practical, common-sense decision-making to identify and resolve discrepancies. Responsibilities may be adjusted or expanded as needed to support company operations. What you'll do Close blending and production work orders accurately and in a timely manner Verify raw material usage and finished goods production against work orders Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) when allocating and issuing materials Confirm correct lot numbers are issued to production and properly relieved from inventory Review and reconcile differences between physical usage and system records Monitor raw material balances after production runs Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies (quantities, lots, or usage) Notify the

Inventory Manager of:

Variances over 3% FIFO issues Incorrect material usage Maintain accurate inventory records for tracking and audit purposes Generate and review basic inventory and usage reports Support cycle counts, quarterly inventories, and year-end inventory processes Assist with correcting system errors (quantity adjustments, lot corrections, date issues) Follow company SOPs and internal inventory control processes Maintain organized inventory documentation and filing

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities Intermediate experience with ERP systems (Fishbowl preferred) or strong general computer skills Comfortable with data entry, system navigation, and basic reporting Basic understanding of inventory or production processes (preferred but not required) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good organizational and communication skills Ability to use practical, common-sense thinking to solve routine problems
