Job Description
Stylecraft Printing, an established leading Business Form Manufacturer, is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchaser / Inventory Manager to oversee purchasing, inventory control, supplier relationships, and stock management. This position will be responsible for ensuring the company has the right products and materials available when needed, while maintaining accurate inventory levels and controlling costs. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, proficient with computers, comfortable working with numbers and suppliers, and able to balance inventory availability. Key Responsibilities Purchasing Identifying inventory needs through placing and tracking orders. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. Monitor supplier pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, and availability. Place purchase orders and follow up on outstanding or delayed orders. Coordinate delivery schedules and resolve purchasing or shipment issues up to and including credit requests on defective products. Identify opportunities to reduce purchasing costs without compromising quality or service. Inventory Management Monitor inventory levels and ensure appropriate stock is maintained. Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile physical inventory with system records. Establish and maintain appropriate minimum and maximum inventory levels. Identify slow-moving, excess, obsolete, or discontinued inventory. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies. Ensure inventory is properly organized, labeled, stored, and tracked. Monitor product usage and trends to anticipate future purchasing needs. Help minimize stockouts, overstock, waste, and unnecessary carrying costs. Administration & Reporting Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records. Enter and update purchase orders, receipts, pricing, and inventory information in the company's ERP system. Prepare inventory and purchasing reports for management. Work closely with accounting to resolve pricing, billing, and receiving discrepancies. Team & Operations Coordinate with sales, warehouse, production, service, and management teams to understand inventory requirements. Support other operational duties as required. Qualifications Experience preferred in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, supply chain, or a related role. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Comfortable working with numbers, pricing, and inventory data. Proficient with Microsoft Excel and standard office software. Experience with inventory management, ERP, POS, or accounting software is an asset. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Notices discrepancies and addresses problems before they become larger issues. Is comfortable negotiating with vendors and asking for better pricing or terms. Can work independently with minimal supervision. Understands the importance of accurate inventory and purchasing records. Works well under pressure and can manage changing priorities. Is reliable, professional, and team-oriented.
