Crib Attendant

Job Title:

Tool Crib Attendant Job Description This position is for a 1st shift Tool Crib Attendant, working from 7 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday. The role involves managing the inventory, distribution, and maintenance of tools and equipment within the plant. As a central point of control, you will ensure that workers have the right tools in good working order to minimize production downtime. Responsibilities Manage the inventory, distribution, and maintenance of tools and equipment within the plant. Track the supply and use of tools using database systems or specialized software like Microsoft Office Pack and Microsoft Teams. Conduct regular cycle counts to verify stock levels. Manage the checkout process by issuing tools to employees and verifying their return at the end of a shift or job. Inspect returned tools for wear, damage, or defects. Perform minor repairs, lubricate equipment, or coordinate professional calibration for precision instruments. Identify low stock levels and initiate reorder requests or purchase requisitions for new tools and consumables like PPE. Maintain a clean and secure tool crib area, utilizing 5S principles to optimize workflow. Essential Skills Basic computer literacy for data entry and inventory management. Mechanical inclination for tool identification and minor repairs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in tool crib management, purchasing, and order maintenance parts. Strong organization skills and inventory management. Customer service skills, cleaning, order picking, and ordering. Work Environment The role requires working in a structured environment, primarily within the tool crib area of the plant. The position adheres to a standard work week schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 3 PM. The use of specialized software for inventory management is required, and adherence to 5S principles ensures the workspace remains clean and organized. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
