Full-Time Job Summary The Cycle Counting Technician is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records through systematic cycle counting of materials on the production floor. This role ensures inventory accuracy targets of 95% are met by conducting quarterly counts of all materials and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Achieve and maintain 95% inventory accuracy rate Complete cycle count of 100% of materials quarterly (every 3 months) Resolve inventory discrepancies within 24-48 hours of identification Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all counts Main Responsibilities Perform systematic cycle counts of all materials on the production floor on a quarterly basis Conduct daily/weekly cycle counts according to established schedules to ensure all items are counted within the quarter Verify physical inventory counts against system records and identify discrepancies Investigate and resolve inventory variances, working with production and warehouse teams Document all cycle count activities, findings, and adjustments in the inventory management system Update inventory records promptly and accurately following each count Report inventory accuracy metrics and discrepancies to management on a regular basis Identify and communicate root causes of inventory inaccuracies to prevent future occurrences Collaborate with production staff to minimize disruption during counting activities Maintain organized count schedules to ensure complete coverage of all materials quarterly Follow established cycle counting procedures and safety protocols Participate in physical inventory audits as required Recommend process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency Ensure proper storage and organization of materials to facilitate accurate countingRequired Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferredExperience:
1-2 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or cycle counting Experience with inventory management systems (ERP/WMS) preferred Production floor or manufacturing environment experience is a plus Skills and Competencies Strong attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Excel Ability to use handheld scanners, barcode readers, and counting equipment Strong mathematical and analytical skills Excellent organizational and time management abilities Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve discrepancies Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Physical ability to lift materials (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods Understanding of inventory control principles and best practices Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment Working Conditions Production floor environment with varying temperatures and noise levels May require standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift Standard business hours with occasional overtime as needed Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Building a cleaner, smarter future takes all kinds of minds: the curious, the courageous, and the creative.
