Position Summary We are hiring a Buyer to support purchasing, replenishment, and inventory accuracy in a fast-moving distribution environment. This role is best suited for someone who is comfortable working in systems, reviewing data, following through with vendors, and balancing multiple priorities throughout the day. The right candidate does not need years of buying experience but should bring strong ownership, accuracy, communication, and a genuine interest in building a career in purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management. The Buyer will create and manage purchase orders, monitor inventory levels, track open orders, follow up with vendors, and help resolve order, receiving, and invoice issues. This is a hands-on role that requires accuracy, urgency, documentation, and consistent follow-through. The ideal candidate with manage inventory investment dollars to yield consistent turn rates, market-appropriate gross margin, and high GMROI. Key Responsibilities Create and manage purchase orders within the ERP system based on demand, system recommendations, and guidance from other buyers. Monitor inventory levels and assist with replenishment to support customer demand and service goals. Track open purchase orders and follow up with vendors on order acknowledgments, ship dates, and delays. Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, lead times, availability, and order issues. Negotiate advantageous pricing, shipping terms, buy quantities, and returns policies with vendors. Assist with maintaining accurate item data, including costs, lead times, order multiples, and vendor information. Help resolve receiving discrepancies, shortages, and invoice issues in coordination with warehouse and accounting teams. Run purchasing and inventory reports and flag overstock and stock-out risks. Support cross‑functional communication with sales, warehouse, and operations teams. Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience in purchasing, inventory, operations, customer service, inside sales, accounting, or another detail-heavy business role. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks accurately.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and comfort reviewing reports, comparing data, identifying discrepancies, and following up on exceptions.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to follow up professionally with vendors and internal teams until issues are resolved.
  • Discretion about sensitive information including pricing, product initiatives, and sales volume.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Willingness to learn ERP systems, purchasing tools, and internal processes. Preferred Qualifications Internship or entry‑level experience in purchasing, inventory management, or operations. Experience in wholesale distribution, supply chain, or inventory‑driven environments. Familiarity with ERP systems (Epicor experience a plus). Intermediate Excel skills. What Success Looks Like Purchase orders are entered accurately and released on time. Inventory shortages and overstock risks are identified early. Vendor communication is timely, professional, and well documented. ERP and item data remain clean and reliable. Issues are surfaced quickly and addressed proactively.
