Job Overview The Inventory Counter plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring efficient warehouse operations. This position involves conducting regular inventory counts, managing stock levels, and collaborating with various departments to optimize supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management and data analysis, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to process improvement. Duties Conduct regular physical counts of inventory and reconcile discrepancies with inventory management systems. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory levels and movements. Collaborate with supply chain management to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained. Analyze data related to inventory turnover, demand planning, and procurement processes. Assist in the development of inventory control policies and procedures for improved accuracy. Support logistics operations including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and materials handling. Perform root cause analysis on discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Utilize data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau for reporting purposes. Engage in negotiations with suppliers regarding pricing, contracts, and sourcing strategies. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse distribution efficiency. Skills Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices. Proficiency in warehouse distribution processes and inventory control techniques. Familiarity with procurement processes, including sourcing and supplier management. Experience with data mining and analytics tools for effective decision-making. Ability to perform financial analysis related to inventory costs and pricing strategies. Competence in using ERP systems (such as AS400) for inventory tracking. Experience with heavy lifting and materials handling within a warehouse environment. Knowledge of demand planning techniques and supply chain analytics. Proficient in SQL for data analysis tasks related to inventory management. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate data collection. This position is essential for ensuring that our inventory is managed efficiently, contributing to the overall success of our operations.
