This position helps ensure that materials received from vendors are accurately recorded, traceable, and available to support manufacturing, order fulfillment, and other company operations. The Inbound Associate serves as an important control point between Purchasing, Inventory, Quality Control, and the warehouse. The position requires strong attention to detail, accurate data entry, and the ability to identify and report discrepancies before inventory is placed into stock. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReceiving & Verification Receive incoming shipments from vendors, freight carriers, and other sources. Unload and organize inbound materials safely and efficiently. Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and other receiving documentation. Confirm item numbers/SKUs, descriptions, quantities, and other required information. Identify shortages, overages, incorrect items, and visibly damaged material. Immediately report receiving discrepancies or shipping damage to the appropriate supervisor or department. Maintain receiving documentation and supporting records. Inventory Processing Accurately enter or confirm received inventory in the company's inventory/ERP systems. Label materials with the appropriate SKU, item number, serial number, lot information, or other required identification. Ensure serialized products are properly documented and traceable. Place received inventory into the correct warehouse location. Verify that physical inventory locations agree with the location recorded in the inventory system. Follow established procedures for items requiring Quality Control inspection or approval before being released into available inventory. Keep materials separated when they are on hold, damaged, unidentified, or awaiting inspection. Inventory Accuracy & Control Help maintain accurate perpetual inventory records. Research and report discrepancies between physical inventory and system quantities. Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory counts. Help investigate misplaced inventory, incorrect locations, receiving errors, and inventory variances. Do not move inventory between locations without completing the required system transaction or documentation. Maintain accurate records for inventory transfers and material movements. Follow company procedures designed to maintain inventory traceability and accountability. Warehouse Operations Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inbound receiving area. Move materials to designated warehouse, production, inspection, or staging locations. Operate pallet jacks, carts, forklifts, or other material-handling equipment when trained and authorized. Properly handle electrical equipment, components, transformers, enclosures, fabricated products, and other company inventory. Assist other warehouse and inventory functions as workload requires. Follow company safety procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions. Coordination With Other Departments Work closely with: Purchasing regarding shortages, overages, incorrect products, and vendor discrepancies. Quality Control regarding products requiring inspection, testing, or approval. Inventory/Warehouse personnel regarding storage locations and inventory movements. Manufacturing regarding incoming components and materials required for production. Accounting when receiving discrepancies affect purchase orders, invoices, or inventory records. Key Performance Expectations Successful performance in this position includes: Accurate receiving quantities. Accurate SKU and item identification. Timely processing of incoming shipments. Accurate warehouse location assignments. Proper serial-number and inventory traceability. Minimal receiving and inventory-entry errors. Prompt identification and escalation of damaged, missing, or incorrect material. Organized receiving and staging areas. Compliance with inventory-control and safety procedures. Inventory should not be placed into unrestricted stock when there is an unresolved discrepancy, required inspection, or uncertainty regarding the identity or condition of the material. QualificationsRequired High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read purchase orders, packing slips, shipping labels, and item numbers. Basic computer and data-entry skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to accurately count and identify inventory. Ability to follow written procedures and maintain organized records. Ability to communicate receiving or inventory problems clearly to supervisors and other departments. Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively in a warehouse environment. Preferred Previous warehouse, receiving, shipping, manufacturing, or inventory experience. Experience working with an ERP or warehouse-management system. Experience with barcode scanners or inventory-tracking systems. Forklift or material-handling experience. Experience receiving electrical, industrial, or manufacturing components. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to perform the physical functions normally associated with warehouse and receiving operations, including: Standing and walking for extended periods. Bending, reaching, climbing, and moving throughout warehouse areas. Regularly lifting and moving packages and materials. Using pallet jacks, carts, and other material-handling equipment. Working around warehouse equipment, freight shipments, pallets, and industrial products. Work Environment This position primarily works in a warehouse and manufacturing environment. Inventory Accountability All inbound material must be properly identified, documented, and processed before being placed into inventory. Employees are expected to follow Larson Electronics' receiving and inventory-control procedures at all times. Inventory discrepancies, unidentified material, damaged shipments, incorrect quantities, missing serial numbers, and other receiving issues must be reported promptly rather than corrected through undocumented inventory adjustments. Basic computer skills and ability to learn Larson Electronics' inventory and ERP systems. Ability to accurately read and match part numbers, SKUs, purchase orders, packing slips, quantities, and shipping documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy. Basic math skills, including counting, addition, subtraction, and quantity verification. Ability to identify and report damaged, missing, incorrect, or unidentified material. Ability to follow established receiving, inventory-control, and warehouse procedures. Ability to maintain accurate inventory locations and complete required system transactions when material is received or moved. Ability to use barcode scanners, computers, printers, and other warehouse equipment as required. Ability to operate a pallet jack and, after appropriate training and authorization, a forklift. Ability to work independently while also coordinating effectively with Warehouse, Purchasing, Quality Control, Manufacturing, and Accounting personnel. Dependable attendance, punctuality, and ability to maintain an organized work area. Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment while maintaining accuracy. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, reach, push, pull, and handle warehouse materials. Ability to safely lift and move materials consistent with the physical requirements of the position, with assistance or material-handling equipment when appropriate.
