ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you a hard worker who pays attention to the details and takes pride in doing things right? Discount Pipe & Steel is a pipe and steel distributor based in Pickton, TX (Hopkins County), and we're looking for a dependable, local person to join our team as a Warehouse & Inventory Associate. This is a hands-on, in-person role — you'll be on the floor daily, keeping our inventory accurate, our records clean, and our operation moving. No prior experience in this industry is required. If you're local, reliable, eager to learn, and take your work seriously, we'll train you on everything else. This is a real opportunity to build a career in operations from the ground up — not a temporary gig.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

→ Tracking and logging inventory — You'll record inventory movements, receipts, and shipments in our system every day. Accuracy matters — what's in the system has to match what's on the shelf. → Counting and auditing stock — Regular cycle counts and physical audits to keep our numbers honest. You'll catch discrepancies and flag them before they become problems. → Measuring and calculating — Handling measurements, unit conversions, and quantity checks. You'll need solid math skills and the confidence to use them under pressure. → Inspecting incoming and outgoing material — Checking that what we received matches what we ordered, and that what goes out the door is the right product in the right condition. → Keeping records organized — Physical and digital files need to be findable fast. If someone has to search more than 60 seconds, something's wrong. → Hands-on warehouse work — Moving, tagging, staging, and verifying physical inventory. This is a physical job. You'll be on your feet and active daily. → Solving problems as they come up — When something's off, we don't wait for someone else to fix it. You'll be expected to identify issues and come with a solution, not just a problem.

REQUIREMENTS

→ Comfortable with basic math — measurements, unit conversions, and calculations are part of daily work. → Organized and detail-oriented. You keep track of things and don't let things fall through the cracks. → Coachable and solutions-minded — you learn fast and bring effort, not excuses. → Able to handle a fast-paced environment without getting flustered. → Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. You need to be here on time, every day. → Must be local to or willing to relocate to the Pickton, TX area (Hopkins County) before starting. → This is a full-time, in-person position.
