Job Title:

Quality Controller Job Description The candidate will work in support of a steel manufacturing facility, contributing to the development and management of their Quality Program. The role involves working in a heavy industrial environment that is mainly outside, as the facility is open air. The position is integral to ensuring the quality of incoming and outgoing products through meticulous documentation and inventory management. Responsibilities Assist in controlling every part and raw product that comes into and leaves the facility, documenting on an iPad or PC. Conduct perpetual inventory in the yard, scanning to locate parts for welders and fabricators, documenting locations, labeling, adding to inventory, and tracking products through final manufacturing and shipment. Utilize Excel and other inventory programs to perform physical tasks such as cutting products, conducting physical quality checks, and tagging products. Write reports on findings and suggest areas for improvement as the quality program is implemented. Operate forklifts and perform other physical tasks to move products for inventory purposes. Essential Skills Experience with inventory systems and software. Proficiency in Excel and other inventory programs. Ability to perform physical quality checks and documentation. Forklift operation skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in quality control, project coordination, and inventory management. Tekla experience is ideal. Supervisory and project management skills are advantageous. Customer service and transportation knowledge. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Macon, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
