Job Description
Summary of Position The primary function of the Shipping Clerk is to perform administrative functions of the shipping department, including receiving in purchase orders, stock transfers, and customer return goods, as well as inventory control duties. This position will also be involved in the order selection of Standard tool orders and the inventory verification and placement of incoming stock into proper locations. Principal Responsibilities The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Unpack, verify, and receive in items from vendor purchase orders. Unpack, verify, and process customer returns in a timely manner. Receive in all other vendor purchase orders. Perform inventory control duties including stock checks, cycle counts, transferring of material to appropriate departments, and all related system transactions. Pull, pack and ship customer orders for Standard Tool catalog items. Package and label "Specials" tool orders, verify quantity and shipping information, band and transfer to packing line. Unpack weekly stock transport shipments as needed. Verify counts and place incoming inventory items in proper storage locations. Operate UPS shipping computer and scale to weigh and label sealed packages. Place all outgoing packages into proper shipping container for pick-up by contract carrier. Daily cleaning of work area to maintain clean, orderly and safe working conditions.
