Inventory Manager The Inventory Specialist plays an integral role in keeping AVECCC Peoria and VetMED functioning at peak performance. The Inventory Specialist schedule will be Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm with a 30 minute lunch break.
Job Purpose:
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for assisting with inventory needs, blood bank products, and Cubex functions to support the business' daily operations and provide the highest quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Inventory:
- Assist with ordering supplies for the hospital if/when the Inventory Manager is out of the office.
- Receive incoming deliveries from UPS, FedEx, Amazon, Staples, Sam's Club, etc.
- Open all packages delivered to AVECCC Peoria or VetMED and distribute them to the appropriate storage areas. o Stock with "First In, First Out" method moving the old to the front and adding the new to the back.
- Checking expiration dates on all inventory items while stocking new arrivals. o Remove expired items and report to the Inventory Manager for disposal instructions.
- Check invoices against physical shipments to ensure everything has arrived at the hospital was invoiced for. o Consult with the Inventory Manager if items are missing.
- Prioritize inventory requests and communicate in a clear manner with the Inventory Manager for the items requested by the team.
- Assist with quarterly inventory counts.
- Proactively identify issues and work with the Inventory Manager to create proposals, obtain quotes, and follow through on resolutions.
- Assist with blood bank inventory at AVECCC Peoria and VetMED and report product needs to Inventory Manager daily.
- Assist with the following Cubex functions each shift: o Restocking empty Cubies from the backstock Matrix drawers. o Loading new inventory that has arrived at the hospital. o Assisting with the Inventory Manager discrepancy resolution. o Communicating directly with the Inventory Manager about Cubex issues. o Cycle counting medications for accuracy.
- Complete the daily task checklist provided by the Inventory Manager for each shift.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds repeatedly and without assistance.
- Sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time.
- Frequent walking and reaching overhead (extensive and repetitive) including bending and/or twisting at waist and knees and/or reach for extended periods of time.
- Hearing, vision, and speech at a functional level are required to meet the essential functions of the job.
- Ability to detect emergency alarms through auditory and visual cues.
- Frequently walk up and down stairs.
- Climb ladders up to 40 feet.
- Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills are needed.
- Exposure to supplies commonly used in a hospital setting such as anesthetic gases and radiation within appropriate OSHA standards.
- There is exposure to barking dogs, cleaning chemicals, and sharp objects including needles.
- Individual(s) may be exposed to fumes, chemicals, cold, heat, noise, radiation, and infectious diseases.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or state equivalent required.
- Experience with regulatory agencies.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess the ability to direct and manage internal and external partners in the development and facilities maintenance process.
- Be a self-starter with an ownership attitude and a powerful sense of drive, and urgency to meet established goals.
- Remains professional in all interactions including Hospital Directors, owners, other tenants, building staff, vendors, and clients.
Pay:
From $26.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
