Job Description

Job Summary Responsible for storing and distributing medical supplies to patient care areas throughout the organization. Utilizes a moderately complex computer inventory system to process inventory transactions timely and accurately. Interacts with healthcare professionals throughout the organization to fulfill supply needs and resolve supply-related issues. Essential Functions Answers and returns phone call and email inquiries. Checks stock in units and restocks depleted items. Orders and assembles supplies for patient care areas. Delivers supplies to patient care areas. Assists patient care staff with identification of supply needs. Stores incoming freight following established FIFO (First-In, First-Out) methods, ensuring proper supply rotation. Checks for outdated supplies in Materials Management and manages appropriately. Resolves basic inventory discrepancies. Other Duties Assumes responsibilities of absent team members as needed. Participates in department physical inventory counts. Participates in departmental and association wide informational meetings and in-services, including staff meetings, association wide forums, and seminars. Reviews department and association wide policies and procedures annually, or as required by the organization. Abilities Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English Able to operate a pallet jack Proficient in standard office software and applications, including: MMIS (Materials Management Information System) Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) Internet Service-oriented attitude with excellent customer service skills Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities Strong interpersonal skills Time management skills Ability to prioritize work assignments Excellent telephone and email etiquette Supervisory Responsibilities None. Physical Demands Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent.
