Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to join our team and drive excellence in inventory management and supply chain operations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing warehouse distribution, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring seamless coordination across procurement, logistics, and warehouse functions. Your expertise will help streamline processes, improve data accuracy, and support strategic decision-making to enhance overall operational efficiency. Responsibilities Manage warehouse inventory levels through effective stock control, demand planning, and replenishment strategies using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems such as AS400 or SAP. Conduct root cause analysis to identify inventory discrepancies, stock shortages, or excesses, implementing process improvements to prevent recurrence. Utilize data mining, data visualization tools like Power BI, and spreadsheets to analyze inventory trends, forecast demand, and support procurement decisions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including merchandising, logistics, sourcing, and production planning to optimize supply chain operations and ensure timely order fulfillment. Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules while maintaining strong supplier management relationships. Oversee materials handling activities such as shipping & receiving, materials management, heavy lifting, and order fulfillment to ensure accurate inventory movement. Perform regular cycle counts and physical audits of warehouse stock using inventory management software to maintain high levels of accuracy and accountability. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse distribution, inventory management, or supply chain roles with a strong understanding of warehouse operations. Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms like AS400 or SAP, Excel data analysis, and inventory control software. Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform data mining, financial analysis, and root cause analysis effectively. Technical proficiency in tools such as Power BI for data visualization and analytics; familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems is a plus. Hands-on experience with logistics inventory management including shipping & receiving, materials handling, and demand planning. Excellent cross-functional communication skills to coordinate with procurement, merchandising, logistics teams, and suppliers. Ability to lift heavy materials safely; familiarity with forklift operation is preferred but not mandatory.
