Job Description

Position Title:
Inventory Specialist Reports To:
Sr.
Plant Manager Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Sr. Plant Manager the Inventory Specialist Is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and control of all raw material, packaging material, and finished goods inventory. This role oversees daily inventory transactions, reconciliation, quality status control, and disposal processes in compliance with company policies and quality standards. Working closely with the sales and marketing teams, the Inventory Specialist supports the transition from old or discontinued SKUs to new SKUs in order to minimize financial exposure related to obsolete materials and inventory planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Maintain accurate inventory balances in the ERP system (Famous or equivalent) for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of raw materials and finished goods inventory, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Ensure proper inventory status designation (Available vs. Unavailable) and coordinate with Quality Control to manage non-conforming materials.
  • Process inventory disposals in accordance with Quality authorization and company policies.
  • Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) compliance across all operations and monitor aging inventory to initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Generate daily inventory, usage, and aging reports, providing insights and recommendations to improve inventory efficiency and accuracy.
  • Review daily and global inventory levels for materials and supplies, placing replenishment orders based on usage trends and confirmed sales forecasts.
  • Track drawdown/depletion of packaging materials related to non-moving or cancelled SKUs in coordination with suppliers, sales, marketing, and operations teams.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to support SKU transitions, minimize obsolete inventory exposure, and maintain efficient material planning.
  • Submit month-end inventory valuation for holdover inventory to the Accounting department.
  • Support additional inventory, procurement, and operational projects as assigned.
  • Travel to Yuma, AZ during the Yuma season for one week per month or more depending on business needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory control, procurement, or manufacturing operations.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as Famous, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms, with strong working knowledge of Famous software preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, along with experience using reporting and data analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external vendors.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to the Yuma, AZ facility as needed, including extended support during the Yuma season.
  • Must be available after regular office hours to support operational and inventory needs when required.
