Job Description

Position Summary The Junior Buyer / Inventory Control Specialist supports the purchasing and inventory management functions to ensure materials, products, and supplies are available when needed. This role assists Procurement Manager and maintains accurate inventory levels, monitors stock movements, and coordinates with suppliers and internal teams to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities Purchasing & Supplier Coordination:
Assist with sourcing suppliers, requesting quotes, and comparing pricing and terms. Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies. Communicate with vendors regarding order status, delivery schedules, and discrepancies. Track and expedite outstanding orders to ensure timely arrival of materials. Maintain supplier files, contracts, and performance records. Inventory Control Monitor inventory levels and help maintain optimal stock to avoid shortages or overstocking. Perform routine inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies. Assist in analyzing usage trends and forecasting material needs. Update inventory records and item master data in the ERP system. Coordinate with all departments regarding receiving, stocking, and material movement. Data & Reporting Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory documentation. Generate inventory, procurement, and supplier reports as needed. Support cost-saving initiatives by identifying pricing opportunities or obsolete inventory. Assist with cycle counts and annual physical inventory processes. Cross-Functional Support Work closely with operations, production, finance, and logistics teams to support daily material requirements. Help resolve invoice discrepancies with accounting. Provide administrative support to the procurement department. GMP - Responsible for following food safety requirements of the facility o Zero GMP violations per month SAFETY - Maintain compliance with company and OSHA safety policies including but not limited to: lockout/ tagout procedures, proper use of PPE, and sharps discovery and handling. It is the responsibility of every employee, including temporary workers, to immediately report to Management the discovery of contamination in any area of the production facility that constitutes a risk to product and/or personnel safety. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma required, associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or related field preferred. 1-2 years of purchasing, supply chain, or inventory control experience (or internship). Basic understanding of procurement processes and inventory management principles. Knowledge of machinery parts preferred. Ability to work independently in absence of supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/MRP systems a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and vendor-relationship skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Pay range is the lowest to the highest wage we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the pay range will be based on several factors to specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience and skills.
Pay:
$22.00 - $27.00 per hour
