Job Summary:

At Sun Power Diesel, our Inventory Control Specialists are responsible for maintaining an accurate and up-to-date inventory - the foremost among several functions being checking in and receiving orders quickly and efficiently into Sun Power Diesel's inventory management system, then preparing orders for pick-up or shipment to customers. This position is an hourly role, with an onsite (non-remote) commitment of between 35-45 hours weekly at the at Sun Power Diesel office. Expected work hours are 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM, M - F. There is potential for (infrequent) parts drop-offs or pick-ups to our vendors and customers. An ICS reports to the Inventory Control & Warehousing Manager (ICWM). After 90 days, this role is eligible for 401K match (to 4%), full medical, medical GAP, dental & vision insurance.

Duty List:

RECEIVING

• Check shipments against packing slips / receivers Note down any discrepancies and / or damaged items
• Pull SPD P.O. records and match packing slips / receivers against vendor invoices
• Calculate inbound freight charges, then split and assign them to their respective sales orders
• Whilst receiving, verify any pricing variations and bring to attention of ICWM & salesman

STOCKING

• Separate and put away stock in correct bins
• If no bin locations currently exist for the part, note location stocked

ORDER MANAGEMENT

• Match received parts against open orders, set aside if due to be shipped out / picked up that day
• Build orders for customers and / or the Service Department; Inform salesmen if orders are complete
• Work with team members or independently to estimate outbound freight charges (when required)
• If items are due for export, prepare & print all necessary export & duties documents to ship with order

SHIPPING

• Pull and prepare appropriately sized packaging for shipments; pack boxes well to prevent damage in transit
• Check picked parts against printed pick tickets; Recheck each part as they are packed into the shipping box
• Ensure are packed into boxes for all export shipments
• Develop familiarity with small parcel services / systems (DHL, FedEx, UPS, USPS) and also LTL carrier systems Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse distribution, warehouse management, or supply chain management with a strong understanding of logistics inventory management.

Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management systems like ERP or warehouse management software. Technical proficiency with materials handling equipment (forklift operation knowledge and / or certification is a bonus). Excellent analysis skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives. Ability to handle heavy lifting when necessary and maintain safety standards in warehouse operations.
