JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title:
Inventory Control Technician Reports to:
Facility Operations Manager Scope of Position:
The Inventory Control Technician is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting efficient tracking, storage, and distribution of materials, supplies, and equipment. This position ensures inventory levels are properly monitored, discrepancies are identified and resolved, and inventory processes are carried out in a timely and organized manner.
Summary:
Maintains inventory of all tools, equipment, and supplies Track usage of all equipment implementing a system of checking in/out all tools, equipment and supplies that are shared by staff. Add inventory tags or labels, when possible, to track equipment. Inspect all items upon return and report when any items are damaged, require maintenance or are not returned Coordinate disposal of all equipment in compliance with the Fair's policies. Items that are obsolete, unusable, and not worth repairing must be disposed of Ensure the Fair's budget is spent wisely by securing competitive quotes/bids for all items when possible. Constantly evaluating existing supplier's product quality, their pricing and services performed so that the Fair is purchasing quality products at competitive prices Read, understand, and follow the Fair's purchasing policy to ensure the Fair's purchasing practices are following the current policy. Report any violations to your supervisor in writing Order and coordinate delivery of materials and services used in the operation of the fairgrounds Monitor all service contracts entered by the Fair. Alert your supervisor for any service contracts that are renewed or could be renegotiated for better terms. Investigate all contracts on a periodic basis to ensure that the services are performed and needed Maintain inventory over the Fair's fuel storage. Order gasoline, diesel and propane as needed. Maintain accurate fuel log and provide fuel usage costs to Finance Department as required but no less than monthly. Report unaccounted fuel in writing to your supervisor Maintain inventory over the Fair's maintenance and event supplies purchased to control costs by minimizing waste and theft Coordinate the completion of preventative maintenance and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment. Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs to equipment in a file for each asset Coordinate pickups and deliveries as necessary for all departments
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals Communicate effectively with contractors, suppliers and service providers Requires the ability to read and understand written and oral instructions, mathematical calculations including volume, area and distance Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, walk, reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop; kneel; crouch, and crawl; lift and carry objects weighing 50 pounds for 200 feet; utilize close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception Clear, concise communication skills with all staff levels, both verbally and written Proficient at Microsoft office Ability to hold confidential information within the SFF and from the public that is directed by the CEO, COO, Board of Directors, Director of Operations and key stakeholders.
Work Hours:
The Inventory Control Technician is scheduled to work a standard shift of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. However, hours may vary based on operational needs. This position requires flexibility to respond to emergencies and other critical situations affecting the South Florida Fair & Palm Beach County Expositions, Inc. Due to the nature of special events hosted by the organization including, but not limited to, the annual South Florida Fair and events in Yesteryear Village, extended hours will be required as necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the role. Additional hours should be expected during peak operational periods.
