Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Field Technician — Asset Inventory & Tagging (Stock Clerk), where you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate asset records and ensuring efficient inventory management across our facilities. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with asset tagging, inventory tracking, and warehouse operations, supporting seamless logistics and stock control processes. You will be instrumental in safeguarding asset integrity, streamlining stock procedures, and contributing to the overall success of our distribution network. About the Role Simbacom is hiring Field Technicians to support a federal asset inventory and infrastructure condition assessment program at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. You'll work in two-person field teams walking down facility and utility infrastructure across the base, verifying and tagging thousands of assets against government records. This is hands-on, outdoor/indoor fieldwork with a clear daily pace and defined schedule — no prior government contracting experience required, just reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to be on your feet outdoors for most of the day. Key Responsibilities Walk down assigned facility and utility infrastructure areas as part of a two-person field team Verify physical assets against government inventory records (the "J-Table") Perform a visual (non-functional) condition assessment of each asset Apply weatherproof asset tags to verified equipment Capture inventory data in real time using a handheld scanner/device in most areas; use offline paper forms in restricted areas where personal electronics are not permitted, then transfer that data the same day Follow all site safety, PPE, and escort requirements, including in Monday-Thursday-only restricted zones Communicate daily progress and any access or equipment issues to the Field Supervisor Skills Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, and ERP platforms like AS400 or MRP systems. Strong knowledge of warehouse operations including shipping logistics, order fulfillment, stocking, picking & packing processes. Experience with RF scanners, pallet jacks, forklifts (certified preferred), and other warehouse equipment for load & unload tasks. Excellent data entry skills combined with basic math abilities for accurate inventory tracking and reporting. Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, trade compliance standards, and international trade regulations. Ability to provide exceptional customer service within internal teams by effectively communicating asset status or inventory needs. Demonstrated understanding of warehouse distribution principles, logistics workflows, and e-commerce order processing. Requirements Able to pass a Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay background check and obtain installation access credentials Comfortable using a handheld scanner or mobile device; basic smartphone/tablet familiarity is sufficient Able to read and follow written work instructions and asset checklists Reliable transportation to the base Prior warehouse, facilities, maintenance, utility, or inventory experience helpful but not required — training provided Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Extended walking and standing outdoors and indoors for most of the 8-hour shift; climb ladders; lift/carry up to 25 lbs Required PPE (provided) must be worn as directed Simba Enterprises LLC dba Simbacom is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
